By registering for, booking, participating in, or using any activity, lesson, program, or service provided by SSW Board House (the “School”), whether paid or unpaid, all participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions and Liability Waiver.
1. Booking Representative & Participant Responsibility
- The person making the booking and payment (“Booking Representative”) confirms that they are authorized to act on behalf of all participants in the booking, including children and their parents or legal guardians.
- The Booking Representative is responsible for:
- Informing all participants of these Terms & Conditions
- Ensuring that all participants have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by them
- The School shall not accept claims or disputes based on the assertion that other participants were unaware of or did not agree to these Terms.
2. Health Conditions & Eligibility
- Skiing and snowboarding are inherently high-risk outdoor sports. All participants must ensure that their physical and mental condition is suitable for participation.
- Participants must inform the School in advance if they have any conditions that may affect safety or instruction, including but not limited to:
- Pregnancy
- Heart conditions, epilepsy, or major medical conditions
- Recent injuries or surgeries
- Any physical or psychological condition that may impact participation
- The School reserves the right, for safety reasons, to refuse or terminate services if a participant is deemed unfit to participate. In such cases, no refunds or compensation will be provided.
3. Insurance Requirement (Mandatory)
- All participants must purchase valid travel insurance prior to participating in any activity.
- Insurance coverage must clearly include:
- Skiing and snowboarding activities (including time outside of lessons)
- Natural disasters
- Transportation disruption
- Activity cancellation or interruption
- The School reserves the right to request proof of insurance at any time. Failure to provide adequate insurance may result in denial of participation without refund.
4. Booking Confirmation & Instructor Requests
- All bookings are considered confirmed only after full payment has been received.
- If a participant pays an additional fee to request a specific instructor:
- The School will make reasonable efforts to assign the requested instructor
- If the requested instructor becomes unavailable due to health, visa issues, emergencies, or other uncontrollable circumstances, the instructor request fee will be refunded, and a suitable replacement instructor will be arranged
5. Lesson Structure & Instruction Policy
- Lessons are conducted as either ski or snowboard lessons, as selected at the time of booking. Changes between disciplines during the lesson are not permitted.
- Lesson fees do not include:
- Equipment rental
- Lift passes
- Meals or personal expenses
- Participants must arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled lesson time with appropriate equipment, clothing, protective gear, and a valid lift pass, and meet at the designated location.
- Lesson time will not be extended, rescheduled, or refunded due to late arrival, personal breaks, or other personal reasons.
- Instructors reserve the right to determine lesson locations and content based on:
- Weather, snow conditions, crowd levels, and safety considerations
- Participant fitness and skill level
- Overall instructional quality and safety
- Helmet use is strongly recommended. If an instructor determines that a participant’s equipment or preparedness presents a significant safety risk, the instructor may refuse to conduct the lesson.
6. Children’s Lessons (If Applicable)
- Children must meet the minimum age and basic self-care requirements (including being toilet trained).
- Parents or legal guardians are responsible for:
- Purchasing valid lift passes for children
- Providing emergency contact information
- Informing the School of any allergies, medical conditions, or safety concerns
- Meal and break expenses are not included in lesson fees.
7. Booking Changes & Cancellations
Refunds are issued based on the number of days prior to the scheduled lesson or activity date, as follows:
- 30 days or more before the scheduled date: 70% refund of the amount paid
- 15–30 days before the scheduled date: 50% refund of the amount paid
- 0–14 days before the scheduled date: No refund will be issued
All booking changes and cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and are effective only upon confirmation by SSW Board House.
8. Equipment Rental (If Applicable)
- Rented equipment must be used properly and handled with care and may not be transferred or subleased.
- Any damage, loss, or theft during the rental period must be compensated based on actual repair or replacement costs.
- The renter assumes full responsibility for any personal injury or property damage arising from equipment use during the rental period.
9. Photography & Media Use
- Photos and videos may be taken during activities for documentation and promotional purposes.
- All media copyrights belong to the School or its designated photographers.
- Participants who do not wish to appear in photos or videos must notify the School in writing prior to the activity; otherwise, consent is deemed granted.
10. Liability Waiver
- Participants acknowledge that skiing and snowboarding involve inherent risks that may result in injury, accidents, or death.
- Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the School, the School and its instructors shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage.
- The School is not responsible for incidents caused by third parties, including ski resorts, other skiers, or equipment providers.
- If a participant fails to follow instructor instructions, acts beyond their ability, or leaves the group without permission, the School’s supervisory responsibility shall immediately cease.
11. Personal Belongings
Participants are responsible for safeguarding personal belongings. The School is not liable for loss or damage.
12. Final Provisions
- These Terms & Conditions take effect upon publication and apply to all SSW Board House services.
- The School reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time without prior notice.
- In the event of any dispute, the School reserves the final right of interpretation and decision.
