Guangzhou Sunac Snow World (also known as Bonski, formerly Sunac Snow Park) officially opened on June 15, 2019. It is one of the largest indoor ski resorts in the world and was the largest in South China until the opening of Shenzhen Huafa in 2025.
The resort is part of the massive Sunac Cultural Tourism City, which includes:
- Indoor ski resort
- Water park
- Outdoor theme park
- Indoor sports park
- Large shopping mall
- Hotels and residential complexes
For skiers and snowboarders from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia, this is one of the best places to ski year-round.
Why Guangzhou Indoor Ski Is Worth It
Before the opening of Shenzhen’s Huafa indoor ski resort, Guangzhou Sunac was often crowded, with long wait times—especially on weekends and during peak seasons.
Now, with some of that traffic spread out, the experience has improved significantly:
- Fewer crowds
- Smoother, more enjoyable sessions
- Better value overall (both tickets and surrounding costs)
Today, it’s a much more comfortable and cost-effective place to train and improve your skiing.
Another big advantage is its location. Being just a short drive from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, it’s especially convenient for international travelers.
This makes it an excellent option for:
- Short ski getaways (2–3 days)
- First-time skiers looking to learn in a controlled environment
- Pre-trip training before heading to Japan or other mountain resorts
If you’re flying into China and want a quick, efficient way to get ski-ready, Guangzhou is one of the easiest places to start.

Hi, I’m Lorraine — a Hong Kong–born ski & snowboard instructor based in Shenzhen, and the founder of a professional ski school operating across China and Japan.
- CSIA Level 3 Ski Instructor & Trainer (Canada)

- NZSIA Freeski Level 1

I’ve been teaching in Guangzhou since the resort first opened in 2019 — through the COVID years and into today’s much more developed indoor ski scene. I’ve also witnessed the rapid growth of the industry firsthand, including the opening of Shenzhen Huafa Ice & Snow World.
In Guangzhou, I’m not only actively teaching on the slopes, but have also established and operate a snowsports school within the resort. Together with my team of instructors, we provide structured, high-quality lessons for beginners through to advanced skiers.
Beyond indoor resorts in Shenzhen and Guangzhou, I also coach in outdoor resorts across China and Japan, helping students transition from indoor slopes to real mountain environments.
